Not to mention his 6 Month series in the Australian MacWorld Magazine, Articles in the ARN, CRN and in the local technology sections of the local state based newspaper. Then there are his blogs, software reviews, the constant calls he receives asking for help and countless hours online and working with people.

We have known Michael for over 10 years. In that time he has greatly helped us in the not for profit sector. He found us hardware/software solutions we could afford and often helped us as a volunteer. He also was a presenter for CICA and discussed Microsoft and the Not for profit sector in Australia. Very helpful. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves.

Did you know that Michael dedicated and donated 3 years of his personal time to the Australian National Jamboree in 2004? He built a network to support 11,000 scouts. He built it on 65 hectares of uneven scrub land with no infrastructure. He laid cable, put in servers and infrastructure. He got things donated and got APC, Microsoft, Trend Micro, Cisco, Dell and HP to support him. He built a network from nothing and ran it on early DSL technology.

He does not stop there. He helps the Scouts run the local Jamborees on the internet, every year. He supplies the servers, workstations and internet.

He also looks after many small businesses who have owners, who are scout leaders. He is always available and always trying to perform magic.

I hear he even tried the same thing for the Uniting church in their NCYC youth events. Provided a network from nothing.

He certainly is well worth the nomination.

Wow, I had almost managed to block the memory of the long hours from my mind. It was distressing to do all of this and then sadly, it had to be all undone and the property returned to nature afterwards. I hope the land warden up there is enjoying his ISDN 30 !

We all know Michael is great at IT and shares his time. We all know he was worthy of the Microsoft MVP award. We also all know how much he does, Blah, Blah, Blah ....

did you know he was the executive producer for a South Australian short film ?

That shocked you didn't it!

Did you also know he is a great photographer and has received recognition ?

Bet you didn't know that!

He is worthy of an award here but .. he does not devote his time just to IT.

Well done Michael !

Hey Michael. Thanks for your shameless tweet. Else I would not have seen this.

I first met michael when he was with Microsoft in NewZealand (Christchurch). Gave an excellent review of SBS 2003 and remote comms.Very helpful and approachable. then I met him again with Microsoft in Singapore and again in Seattle. We met when I lived in NZ but now.... I live in Adelaide not far from him. Weird how things work out. Always a blast to catch up and boy oh boy, Michael has helped me in many a stressful situation.

Michael well deserved the MVP in SBS (What happened there Michael ? Traded MVP with Microsoft for GITCA with Microsoft ?) and I hope he is in the SMB150 for 2012 !

I have been asked, what is it that I do that is specially "SMB". I am the director of Business Technology Partners (BTP). We have grown from 3 to 9 staff in thee years. Our growth is from referals and testimonials, we do not traditionally market. This alone, with our growth, is testament to our quality of work. We work nationally accross Australia. We work with physical, cloud or virtual serveres. We provide SMB software and hardware solutions. I am the head trouble shooter and am almost available around the clock. We pride ourselves on working in the SMB market, getting to know our clients and working with them on their solutions. We give what we feel is the best service in the market, and always try to beat our clients expectations.

One example of Michael's work: I tried for a few months to log into my workplace network from home. Our internal IT was unable to successfully achieve this. I rang Michael (after hours) and he stayed with me on the phone for well over an hour until I had successfully connected. I found Michael incredibly helpful, using plain language with clear instructions and was very patient with me. When he said if I had any problems don't hesitate to call him, I knew he meant it. Top notch service!
